I think I will always be a matte liquid lipstick girl at heart, but recently I have been loving lip glosses! Anastasia Beverly Hills has one of my favourite lip gloss formulas! They aren’t sticky and leave your lips feeling really moisturised. Recently, Anastasia Beverly Hills released their Summer ’17 collection which included 10 gorgeous lip gloss shades. They were so generous and sent me this collection, including the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Glosses, so I wanted to review and swatch all the shades for you! Let’s get into the review!!!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Glosses Review
The lip glosses come in a standard sized round tube with a black lid. The tube itself is clear, depicting the shade within.
The applicator is a flat sponge tip applicator and is the same as their newer matte lipsticks, which I have reviewed here. This applicator makes it easy to apply to the lips and you can create a sharp lip line with it also.
These lip glosses can be found on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website and they retail for $16USD each.
Within each lip gloss is 3.25 mL of product which is the same as brands like Colourpop and Kylie Cosmetics. Kylie Cosmetics is around the same price point while Colourpop is much more affordable.
The Summer 17 collection contains 10 lip glosses ranging from an iridescent violet lip topper to a gorgeous metallic brown shade.
Moon Jelly – Sparkling diamond white with a blue reflect
Toffee – Soft nude
Amber – Peachy beige
Girly – Sparkling pink with a coral reflect
Rum – Warm reddish brown
St Tropez – Iridescent rose gold
Caramel – Soft pinky brown
Grape Jelly – Vivid blue toned purple
Parfait – Metallic coral with a rose gold finish
Maple – Iridescent coppery brown
There are two formulas within this collection, a pigmented gloss and a sheer lip topper formula, that can be worn over other lipsticks or alone.
These lip glosses are non-sticky and apply really smoothly. The ones that are meant to be pigmented are full coverage in one layer and are not streaky at all. The more sheer shades can be worn alone, but need to be built up if worn alone.
These Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Glosses are just so comfortable to wear. They aren’t sticky and you don’t feel them on unless you firmly purse your lips together.
They are not transfer proof. If you drink from a coffee cup, for example, some lipstick will transfer, however, it is not noticeable in terms of patchiness on the lips at all. They are not smudge proof. If you scratch the top of your lip, some product will transfer, however, you can easily just wipe it off. The smudges are not hard to remove.
As far as lasting power goes for a gloss, these are relatively long lasting! You will be able to get away with light eating and even drinking, with some product still staying on your lips.
If you have dry lips, these do not emphasise the texture, however, if you have dry lips that have flakey areas, the flaked areas will be noticeable, as it would with any type of lipstick. You may need to exfoliate beforehand in this case.
I really like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss formula and I am obsessed with the shades they have chosen to include in their summer collection. Even though it is going to winter in Australia, I think these shades are gorgeous all year round. I will definitely be wearing a lot of these shades regularly!
