The new Anastasia Beverly Hills Ultimate Glow Kit is their limited edition glow kit a part of their holiday 2016 collection. This highlighter palette featured 6 staple highlighter shades that almost everyone can use. If you are someone who loves an over-the-top glow, then you will love this palette.
Review of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Ultimate Glow Kit
The packaging of this glow kit is similar to the other glow kits with an outer sleeve. It is a mustard gold type colour with Glow Kit in white. The words glow kit are actually glow in the dark too!
The palette is made out of cardboard with a magnetic closure and a full sized mirror.
This palette retails for $45 USD from the Anastasia Beverly Hills website. International shipping is $18.95USD too.
In terms of value, you receive 6 shades which are 4.5 grams each. In comparison to the other previous glow kits which are also $45, you get 7.4 grams of product for 4 shades. So even though there are 6 shades in this palette, you aren’t necessarily getting more product than the regular glow kits, just a greater shade variety.
The formula of this palette is slightly different to the previous ABH glow kits which are very smooth and creamy. I also found that the formula varied a little bit between shades, which I will touch upon in the swatch section below.
The Ultimate Glow highlighter formula is much more pigmented but are not as smooth. A few of these highlighters run a little more glittery and more metallic, which some people will love.
I found that some shades applied better than others. They all last all day without fading which is great for a highlighter!
ABH also showed on their instagram stories, that this kit is perfect to add on top of lipsticks to create gorgeous metallic lips. The shade Hot Sand is a little chunkier in terms of glitter and would also be gorgeous as a body shimmer too.
I love to use the Sigma F42 fan brush!
If you want a great range of highlighters, this is a perfect palette as it contains all of the staple shades in one! If you are someone who doesn’t like that over the top highlighter I would suggest looking into the That Glow highlighter kit also from Anastasia Beverly Hills, which has a similar shade range.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Ultimate Glow Kit Swatches
These swatches were performed with no primer or base. Keep in mind that these shades may look slightly different on other skin tones.
Snow – is a true icy white, that is suited towards paler skin tones
White Sand – is a warm beige gold, that I think will suit most skin tones.
Golden Dawn – is a true gold highlighter, this shade is universally flattering.
Sunray – is a peachy warm brown shade that will be perfect for people with medium to deep skin tones.
Amber Gold – is a rose gold highlighter with gold reflects. I did find this shade to have chunkier glitter particles.
Hot Sand – is a perfect amber bronze shade. I also found this shade to have chunky glitter particles and I found it to not be as pigmented. This, however, could be my skin tone and I think this would look absolutely gorgeous on skin tones deeper than my own.
I am really looking forward to your thoughts on this palette! Let me know in the comments below!
