Becca Cosmetics and Jaclyn Hill have collaborated once more to bring us an entire collection inspired by their cult favourite highlighter, Champagne Pop. As soon as this collection was released in Australia earlier this month, I knew that I needed to purchase the Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette! I always want to purchase the Champagne Pop individual highlighter, but this is almost always sold out.
I’m so pleased that they have come out with a palette that not only includes this cult classic highlighter, but also introduces a new highlighter shade, Prosecco Pop. I have been asked by a few of my Instagram followers to review this palette and I will be leaving some of my thoughts down below!
Review of the Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette
The packaging is extremely beautiful on the outside and also on the inside of the palette. The fact that there are highlighters and blushes in the one palette also makes this perfect for travel!
The palette comes in a gold metallic box which has product details and ingredients listed on the back.
Outer Palette Packaging
The palette itself is of a gold metallic finish, with the front cover being white with the same metallic gold featured in the logo in the centre with gold specks radiating around it.
Internal Palette Packaging:
The inside of the palette has a full sized internal mirror and again is of the same metallic gold finish as the outside of the palette. Unlike a number of palettes on the market, this palette feels sturdier, heavier and also not as flimsy. OCD guys and gals out there may find the finish of this palette incredibly annoying as it attracts fingerprints almost immediately. However I personally think the gorgeousness of the palette itself outweighs this.
This palette retails for $89AUD and I purchased mine from Sephora Australia. This price point is a higher price point, however I believe that this palette is extremely great value! An individual highlighter such as the Champagne Pop retails for $62AUD. For $27AUD more, you receive nearly three times the amount of product than the individual highlighter and you receive 3 blushes and 2 highlighters. It is great value not just someone starting their makeup collection but makeup lovers like myself. I own one of Becca’s full sized individual highlighters in the shade Opal, and I am nowhere near hitting pan, even with regular use. Highlighters are products that you use sparingly and will last an extremely long time. This palette enables you to be able to use two shades of highlighters as well as blushes, so you are effectively getting your money’s worth.
I am so happy that Becca and Jaclyn Hill created a palette complete with universally flattering shades. The palette comes with three blushes and two of the shimmering skin perfectors. Rose Spritz is a luminous blush while Amaretto and Pamplemousse are mineral blushes.
Rose Spritz: warm peachy pink blush shade with a hint of shimmer
Amaretto: dusty rose brown blush shade
Pamplemousse: medium pink blush shade with a warmer undertone
Champagne Pop: champagne gold highlighter shade
Prosecco Pop: gold highlighter shade with yellow undertones
These are very pigmented and as with most highlighters a little goes a long way.
The formula feels a little drier than my individual shimmering skin perfector in Opal, however this didn’t effect the application in any way. The highlighters were still blendable and long lasting.
These blushes are extremely pigmented and whilst Becca says these can be built up for coverage, this is really not necessary. On my first application of these blushes, just one swipe of my brush caused blush overload. I have since learned that only to use a tiny amount to achieve a natural luminous flush to my cheeks.
I found the blushes pretty long lasting with the shades still being present after a 9 hour day. The highlighters lasted a little bit less, maybe due to being the final step in my makeup routine. I think using a setting spray of some kind would definitely increase the wear time of these.
I really like this palette not just for the great value but also for the variety of shades. It will be the most perfect travel companion and I have found myself reaching for it nearly everyday. If you are in the market for a new highlighter, I would definitely check this palette out. It gives you the opportunity to have two highlighters and three blushes to play with for only a little bit extra, in comparison to an individual highlighter from Becca. Just remember to get in quick! This palette is only limited edition!
