If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I am liquid lipstick obsessed, in particularly with matte lipsticks. I love how matte lipsticks look and a little bit of dryness to me is nothing if the lipstick lasts all day, especially on important occasions. However, for days where I opt for comfort, the Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Lip is my go to! I absolutely love Colourpop Cosmetics, an affordable makeup brand that keeps up with the latest trends and colour palettes of the season. The Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Lip is a non-drying formula that your lips will love you for wearing! I have a fair few shades and I’ll review the formula and swatch everything down below!
Review of the Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Lip
The packaging itself is the typical sleek Colourpop lipstick packaging. They are a transparent tube that shows the exact colour of the lipstick, with a silver metallic lid. It has a standard doe foot applicator that is slightly stiff, allowing for easy application.
They are sold exclusively on the Colourpop Cosmetics website. These lipsticks retail for $6USD each which is extremely affordable when compared to other creme lipsticks out there. You receive 0.11 oz or 3.25 mL of product within each lipstick. These lipsticks themselves are really great value, but it is the shipping that can be a little expensive depending on where you live, so I suggest saving up for a big order from them and taking advantage of their free international shipping deals when you spend over a certain amount!
The formula is thick and mousse-like in consistency. They are easy to glide onto the lips and are extremely pigmented, with full opacity in one layer. They do not dry down to a matte finish but are not heavy at all on the lips.
The formula is more forgiving than a matte lipstick, and doesn’t emphasise every dry patch or deep lip lines. They are not transfer-proof and you will find that you need to reapply after eating and drinking.
I find that they last 6 hours before fading, and with eating and drinking they fade pretty evenly in the centre of the lips. However, reapplication is nice and easy and there are no issues with crumbling, feathering or tackiness.
If you are someone who dislikes matte lipsticks because they are drying, then definitely look into these! The formula is really nice and comfortable to wear and the colour range they have is stunning!

This is a deep plum brown shade. I think this is a really pretty shade and I do wear it a lot.
This is a grey toned lilac shade.

A lilac shade
A blue toned purple shade. I love this shade! I wish it was more socially acceptable to wear colours like this!
This is a bright pink with a blue duo chrome type feel to it. I do find this shade a little patchy, so a lip liner is a must!
A raspberry pink shade!
A rose mauve shade.
A coral hot pink shade
This is described as a true orange-red. On my skin tone, I find this to be more orange.
Frick N Frack
Calypso (formerly Gypsy)
This is a pink nude with an orange undertone. On my skin tone it looks very similar to Frick N Frack.
This is a peachy nude.
This is a pastel pink. I don’t think this shade suits my skin tone. I feel as though it washes me out!
