As you may already know, Kylie Jenner has delved into the world of makeup beyond lipsticks, starting with Kyshadows, and releasing Kyliner, an eyeliner and gel liner kit. The Kylie Cosmetics Kyliner kit is really convenient, with a gel eyeliner, eyeliner pencil and a brush included. Unlike her other launches, which sell out within minutes, Kylie has made such great improvements to the restocking of her products and these Kyliner products are even available right now on her website!
Review of the Kylie Cosmetics Kyliner
The products are packaged in a sleek black box and wrapped within foam, just like the other Kylie Cosmetics products. Within the box is also a printed card with a note from Kylie. This card differs from the other cards as it pictures her eyes closed with winged eyeliner, similar to the image that appears on the Kyliner box. The Kyliner Kit is packaged in a white box similar to the Lip Kits. Within the box comes a gel eyeliner pot, a matching eyeliner pencil, and also an angled brush. The eyeliner pot is clear with a black lid, which has “Kylie” written on top in Silver. The lid of the eyeliner pencil also has this silver writing. The eyeliner brush is black and also comes with a plastic brush guard.
The Kyliner kits are sold exclusively on the Kylie Cosmetics website for $36USD. International shipping is generally $14.95USD. The gel eyeliner has 0.11 fl oz of product and the eyeliner pencil has the standard 0.04 oz of product. The price point is in the mid-range to high category but in saying that, I do think this kit is great value, as not only do you receive a gel eyeliner, but you also get the matching pencil and brush. Similar brands such as Anastasia Beverly Hills have a similar gel eyeliner which is $18USD alone. If you were on a budget you could check out Colourpop which sells gel eyeliner for $6USD and a pencil for $5USD.
The eyeliner pencil has a similar formula to the Lip Kit lip pencils. It is really soft to apply and quite pigmented.
The creme gel eyeliner is really creamy and glides on quite easily. It does however, dry pretty fast, so I would cap this product immediately after use.
The creme gel eyeliner as mentioned above dries pretty fast and stays all day without smudging.
The results of the eyeliner pencils differed with shades. I found that all of the eyeliner pencils were extremely pigmented and lasted all day without fading into my lash line, however, I found that the brown and dark bronze eyeliner pencils to fade with time.
This kit comes with a synthetic angled eyeliner brush. I personally would not use this brush, as I prefer a smaller and stiffer brush to apply eyeliner. This brush is also a little thick and wide, and caused me to make a few mistakes, but that could also be because I am not an expert at winged eyeliner and am more comfortable with a smaller brush. I love using the Sigma E06 Winged Liner Brush instead because it is so thin and precise! The Kyliner brush, however, is really great for filling in eyebrows or smoking out the lower lash line
I really like the convenience and ease of this kit. If you are new to eyeliner, it is really perfect as you get the gel, the pencil and a brush.
