After selling out within seconds in the first restock, I was very lucky to get the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow The Bronze Palette in the second restock. This bronze shade palette features 9 neutral shades and is the first eyeshadow palette from Kylie Cosmetics. They are planning to release other shades soon. In this post, I will be doing a comprehensive review of the eyeshadow palette as well as swatches of each shade!
Review of the Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow The Bronze Palette
The eyeshadow palette is packaged similarly to the other Kylie Cosmetics products in a sleek black box and wrapped within foam. Within the box is a printed card with a note from Kylie. This note, with Kylie’s eyes, differs from others as it features a holographic component (I’m not completely sure how to describe it) that causes her eye to wink as you move the card back and forth . The palette is packaged in a white box also with Kylie’s eye logo. The palette itself similarly has this logo, however, there are drips representing the actual shadow shades.
This Kyshadow palette is sold exclusively on the Kylie Cosmetics website for $42USD. International shipping is generally $14.95USD. When compared to another higher end brand palette such as the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette, which is also $42USD, you definitely receive more product with 0.45 oz of product in comparison to 0.28 oz that you receive with the Modern Renaissance Palette. This palette has a high price point, however, I do feel that this is justified if you want to pay for the brand and what it represents. I do think for this price point a mirror or a brush would have been a nice touch.
These shadows are pressed powder shadows that are of medium buildable coverage. Even though they are powder, they have a velvet-like feel to them similar to the Carli Bybel Palette. The pigmentation of these shades is great and my swatches were created without the use of a primer. The shadows being medium coverage means that they blend very easily, but you can build up the opacity! I do find that the shadows fall out of the pan a little bit, but I do find that this happens with a number of my palettes. To prevent any fallout from the application on a brush going everywhere, I always keep the plastic sheet on the palette and am always careful with how I dip my brush in the pan. I didn’t experience much fallout when applying the shadows to my eyes, but regardless of the brand I am using, I do tend to tap my brush to prevent fall out.
This eyeshadow palette features 2 satin shimmer shades and 7 matte shades. They range from subtle bronzes and browns for natural looks but there are also deep dark browns and a black that can create more dramatic, smokey eye looks.
Jasper – matte finish creamy beige
Quartz – satin finish champagne gold
Topaz – matte finish true taupe
Goldstone – satin finish bronze
Citrine – matte finish bright orange
Tiger Eye – matte finish light golden brown
Hematite – matte finish chestnut brown
Bronze – matte finish chocolate brown
Onyx – matte finish black
I really love this palette as it has the potential to not only create everyday neutral looks, but also dramatic smokey eyes also. The formula allows for a really soft and blended finish which is something that is super important with any good eyeshadow palette.
I am really happy with this palette and the quality of the shadows and packaging. If you are looking for a great neutral palette, this is really easy to use and has great versatility.
