The Kylie Cosmetics Valentines Collection hooked me in with the red glitter packaging. Out of this collection, I was most excited to try the blushes that were included within the Kylie’s Diary palette as this is the first time that Kylie Cosmetics has released blushes! I have reviewed and swatched all the items within the collection and if you are interested, keep reading below! I apologise for this review being a little late. As this product was limited edition, I didn’t think that anyone would want a review but many of you asked for it and here it is!
Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Collection Review
The packaging has a common theme throughout the collection of a white and red valentines theme. I’ll break my review down into the individual components that are within the bundle with their swatches!
There are 3 mini kits that each include an eyeshadow duo and a mini gloss and matte lipstick. What I love about these sets is they make a perfect travel companion! I especially love that I now have Damn Gina, Dolce K and Literally in a mini version, perfect for my bag!
The formula of the matte eyeshadows is the same as the normal kyshadow formula. The metallic shades are a little more glittery than the metallics within the normal kyshadow palettes.
Smooch Set – Gorg Matte Lipstick, Damn Gina Gloss and the eyeshadows Poison Berry (Matte) and In Love (Metallic)
Kiss Me Set – Dirty Peach Matte Lipstick, Poppin’ Gloss and the eyeshadows Main Squeeze (Matte) and Sweet Thang (Metallic)
Sweet Heart Set – Dolce K Matte Lipstick, Literally Gloss and the eyeshadows Baby (Matte) and Love Letter (Metallic)
This set includes six mini versions of the popular Kylie Cosmetics matte lipsticks plus three new shades. The four popular shades included within this set are Maliboo, Posie K, Mary Jo K and the new shades Apricot, High Maintenance and Head Over Heels. The mini set is always a great opportunity to try out a few shades but I wouldn’t say this is the best value, as you are receiving only 1.25 mL of product, but they are super cute and perfect for travel.
Packaging and Formula:
The formula is the same as the original formula and my review of that can be found here.
Valentines Collection Lip Kits
These two new beautiful matte shades come in their own individual boxes with a liner.
Packaging and Formula:
The formula is the same as the original formula and my review of the matte formula can be found here. The bright pink shade Valentine does stain your lips a little, so keep that in mind.
Valentines: is a bright pink shade
Head Over Heels: is a purple-pink shade.
Kylie’s Diary Palette
This palette looks like a diary and has a red glitter accent that looks like a bookbinder. The palette includes a mirror of a decent size. It has 9 eyeshadows and 2 blushes.
- Bae (metallic icy periwinkle)
- Heart Breaker (pearlized shimmering baby pink)
- Make Me Blush (metallic sparkly lavender)
- Sweet Like Candy (metallic bright rose gold)
- Love Potion (satin hot pink)
- Be Mine (matte soft coral)
- Heart Eyes (matte deepened magenta)
- Romance (metallic golden burgundy)
- Love Me Not (matte plum grey)
- First Date (subdued tangerine)
- Virginity (vibrant warm pink)
I found that the first three metallic shadows were more glittery in comparison to the metallic formula of the normal Kyshadow Palettes. The shade Bae in particular needed to be built up a tiny bit. With these three, using Mac Fix + spray would help with application though.
The rest, however, were great quality like the normal Kyshadow Palettes. I was so surprised that the bright pink shade Love Potion was so pigmented as pinks are usually quite tricky! My review of the kyshadow formula can be found here.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of these blushes and they chose gorgeous shades that would suit pretty much everyone. They are more on the side of subtle blushes and can easily be built up. Personally, I do not like highly pigmented blushes because it is so easy to ruin your makeup, so I love these blushes. Their pigmentation also depends on the type of brush you use.
Overall I really like this collection! I think the shade Head Over Heels is becoming one of my favourites!!!!
I also currently have a giveaway going with some of these products over on my Instagram, so definitely check that out!!!!
