I am so glad I took the plunge and purchased the Tarte Cosmetics Styled By Hrush Eye and Cheek Palette. This palette was made in collaboration with Hrush Achemyan, a celebrity makeup artist who has clients such as Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. I thought about whether I actually needed another palette, but this one is too great of value to pass up and includes a Tarte blush which I have not tried before. I am so glad I did purchase this palette as there are a few things that I really like about it!
Review of the Tarte Cosmetics Styled By Hrush Palette
The palette comes in a black and gold box, with the Style By Hrush logo in gold.
The palette itself is a really slim and compact case that has a black faux croc style front cover. This also has gold accents of the Tarte and Styled by Hrush logos.
Similar to other Tarte palettes such as the Tartelette in Bloom, this palette has internal metallic gold surfaces. This palette also features a full sized mirror.
The fact that this palette is an eye and cheek combo means I will use this quite a bit especially when travelling, to save me from taking a whole heap of products.
I purchased this palette from the Tarte Cosmetics website for $30USD. Delivery to Australia and a number of other countries is free if you spend over a certain amount.
This palette is amazing value! You receive almost a full sized Amazonian Clay Blush which by itself costs $28USD. This is amazing value as you are also getting 6 eyeshadows that can be used on their own to create a perfect complementary eye look.
I love the formula of Tarte eyeshadows, and own a number of palettes, with the Tartelette in Bloom palette being my favourite. The formula of the shadows in this palette are almost creamier than the Tartelette in Bloom palette. The shimmer shades are so pigmented and creamy and apply really nicely onto to the eyelid. The matte shades are also really pigmented and blend like a dream! The eyeshadows in this palette so kick up a little bit in the pan, but I would just keep the plastic sheet over the shadows. I didn’t find that these eyeshadows had much fallout when applied.
The blush is really nice to blend and does not fade away.
There are 6 shadows included within this palette. What I like about this shade range is you are able to create a complete look and looks that can be for day and night. The matte transition shades are gorgeous in creating a perfectly blended eye look.
Bliss – white gold shimmer shade
Smitten – pink champagne shimmer shade
Royal – berry shimmer shade
Pinch – golden peach matte shade
Kitty – gorgeous matte brown shade
Vamp – taupe matte transition shade
There is 1 blush within this palette.
Cheeky is a matte coral/pink shade
The blush applies really nicely and stays on without fading or disappearing throughout the day. The shadows are really pretty and last all day on the lid when a primer is used.
I love my Sigma brushes for applying eyeshadows. I use the following brushes;
Crease – E40 Tapered Blending Brush to apply and blend transition shade
Lid – E55 Eye Shading Brush to press and slide the shimmer shades to lid
Outer Corner – E34 Domed Utility Brush to add depth to the outer corner
Inner Corner – E30 Pencil Brush to highlight the inner corner
The two golden shimmer eyeshadows can also be used as a highlighter, which makes the palette perfect for travel. Eyeshadow, blush, and highlighter all in one.
I really like how this palette is compact and contains all the shades that you would need to create one cohesive look without the need to grab another palette.
