My skin type can vary from oily to combination with an oily T-zone. Before finding these amazing products, in our Australian summer, I would find that I needed to blot regularly and my makeup would not last as long as I would have liked. These aren’t new products by any means but I only just recently discovered them! The Skindinavia Makeup Primer and Finishing Sprays for Oil Control increase the longevity of makeup, controlling oil and shine.
Here are the official product details from Skindinavia:
The Makeup Primer Spray | Oil ControlOur must have primer for anyone with oily skin. Lightweight spray contains no
pore-clogging silicone. We use a unique skin cooling technology to slow oil
from moving to surface making sure everything stays perfectly held with smooth finish. The Makeup Finishing Spray | Oil ControlOur ultra-fine mist controls shine and keeps makeup in place for up to 16 hours. Skindinavia’s award-winning formula absorbs excess oil and keeps your makeup fresh and flawless preventing makeup from sliding or caking. How they work:Skindinavia’s patented technology forms a lightweight, breathable web working with your makeup that slowly releases over 16 hours. The timed-release evaporation retains moisture longer while also drawing heat away from the skin as it slowly evaporates throughout the day. The results are fresh, cool makeup for up to 16 hours.
They retail for $89.95 AUD for two sprays that are 118mL each. When compared to other oil control sprays such as the Urban Decay spray which is $49AUD, these are of a higher price point. However, I save this for more important events and find that it is worth every penny. You are basically getting a primer spray for $45 and a finishing spray for $45, both with two different purposes.
I use the primer and finishing spray together, so I can’t comment if they work differently on their own. The use of these sprays noticeably increases the longevity of my makeup and it does not fade throughout the day. My makeup looks just as full coverage at the end of the day as it was when applied. Due to the price, I do save this for my more important events but this way it will last a lot longer.
How I apply the sprays:
I apply my moisturiser first and then spray the primer spray with one or two sprays over my face. The primer dries pretty quickly but you can also help it along by waving your face to let it dry. I can almost immediately apply my base foundation and the rest of my makeup including my powder steps. Lastly, I spray the finishing spray to set everything in place.
