The new Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palette has been all over Instagram! The Master Palette by Mario, an Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palette created in collaboration with celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, is absolutely stunning. Mario is responsible for Kim Kardashian’s flawless makeup and has created a really lovely and usable palette, filled with natural shades and a few jewel tones.
Review of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario
The packaging of this palette is very similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. Modern Renaissance palette has 14 shadows, while this has 12, and the Modern Renaissance palette also had velvet.
The external cardboard box is black with gold accents of the ABH logo and the name of the palette and the palette itself has the exact same design as the box. The palette is made out of black cardboard which makes it incredibly light, making it perfect for travel. The palette has an internal mirror of a decent size and there is also a double ended eyeshadow brush included. This is the same brush which is included within the Modern Renaissance palette. As with the Modern Renaissance Palette, they have also taken care in including fine details such as a black ribbon underneath the brush that helps you take it out.
I purchased this palette directly from the Anastasia Beverly Hills website for $45 USD, with international shipping of $18.95 USD. You can also currently purchase this palette here: Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario • Anastasia Beverly Hills • $45
The palette contains 12 shadows and also comes with a double-ended brush. Each shadow is 0.02 oz in weight and you receive 0.24 oz of eyeshadow in total. I find that this palette is reasonably priced as I would normally expect to pay around $15 – 18 USD for a higher end brand eyeshadow brush. Also the fact that the shadows are so pigmented means that you don’t need to use a lot of product to achieve a flawless eye look. The dark shades in particular only need the lightest of hand with your brush to achieve great pigmentation. I think the quality of the shadows and their pigmentation justify the price point.
There are 12 shadows within this palette and of that are 3 mattes and the rest are satin/shimmer shades.
Hollywood is a light yellow gold with a satin finish.
NYC is a chocolate brown with a red undertone with a shimmery finish.
Kim is a light golden copper with a shimmery finish.
Muse is a copper brown with a shimmery finish.
Marina is a pink champagne shade with a metallic finish.
Claudia is a slate gray with blue undertones with a shimmery finish.
Lula is a taupe with a matte finish. (Perfect transition shade)
Isabel is a burnt orange with a matte finish.
Violeta is a chocolate brown with a matte finish.
5th Ave is a golden beige with a metallic finish.
Bronx is an olive green with a shimmery finish.
Paris is antique gold with a shimmery finish.
The formula of these eyeshadows is an absolute dream to work with! They are extremely pigmented, soft, silky and velvety. The shadows apply like butter and are very easy to blend out. Similarly to the Modern Renaissance palette, this formula does create a bit of kick up so dip into the palette with a light hand.
The shadows blend like a dream with very little fallout. With the use of a primer, I found that these eyeshadows stayed almost flawless for nearly 8 hours.
I love my Sigma brushes for applying eyeshadows. I use the following brushes;
Crease – E40 Tapered Blending Brush to apply and blend transition shade
Lid – E55 Eye Shading Brush to press and slide the shimmer shades to lid
Outer Corner – E34 Domed Utility Brush to add depth to the outer corner
Inner Corner – E30 Pencil Brush to highlight the inner corner
I am absolutely in love with this palette and there is not a single thing I would change! The shade range and the formula are absolute perfection! I can honestly see myself using every single shade in this palette! If you have been thinking about this palette, definitely do not sleep on it! This palette is limited edition, so run! This is one that will sell out extremely quickly! Keep an eye out on their website and their Instagram for any restocks!

These swatches were performed with no primer or base. This definitely shows you how pigmented the shadows truly are. Keep in mind that these shades may look slightly different on other skin tones.
