Lip glosses are the newest trend in makeup at the moment with companies like Kylie Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills and Colourpop jumping on the bandwagon. I purchased Kylie Cosmetics first three lip glosses and fell in love with the formula. These glosses are unlike any other glosses I have tried. I previously shied away from glosses because I hate the sticky feeling and the constant need to reapply. These glosses are extremely pigmented and are pretty long lasting as far as glosses go! Kylie Cosmetics recently released four new gloss versions of her best selling matte lipsticks, Posie K, Candy K, Koko K and Exposed. As I have the entire collection, I wanted to review and swatch them for you all! Keep reading for my Kylie Cosmetics lip gloss review.
Review of the Kylie Cosmetics Glosses
The products are packaged similarly to the Kylie Cosmetics matte lipsticks. They are delivered in a sleek black box and wrapped within foam. Within the box is also a printed card with a sweet note from Kylie. The glosses are packaged in a white box. The lipstick itself has a black cap with the signature drips down the sides, similar to the bottle design of the matte lip kits. They come with a different applicator which is a soft brush. In the first release, there were some issues with the brush however, this has since been corrected.
These glosses are sold exclusively on the Kylie Cosmetics website for $15 USD. International shipping is $14.95 USD however cost may vary depending on certain customs tax in particular countries. The glosses are very comparable in price to other high-end lip glosses such as Anastasia Beverly Hills and MAC which are $16 USD and $17 USD respectively.
Similarly to the matte lip kits, the glosses have a very sweet vanilla type scent which you either love or hate. I do not find it to be particularly strong and it becomes less noticeable with time.
These glosses are unlike any other glosses that I have tried. These glosses are extremely pigmented and the formula is thick and creamy. One swipe is able to achieve complete opacity.
These last a pretty long time as far as glosses go however they are not completely transfer-proof, unlike their matte counterparts. For a flawless look, a lip liner should be used. Due to the formula, it was a little messy to create a defined lip line using the gloss alone. I would also advise not to use too many coats as it will transfer and fade more noticeably.
I am loving this formula and the fact that they are not drying like matte lipsticks. If you don’t like the matte lipstick feeling, I would definitely recommend these!
