Tarte Cosmetics recently launched their Holiday 2016 collection with the Color Wheel Amazonian Blush Palette being the standout and most hyped product. I purchased this palette as it was the perfect opportunity to try out the Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay Blush formula. I have been longing to try these for a while now, and this palette was the perfect way to do so!
Review of the Tarte Cosmetics Color Wheel Amazonian Clay Blush Palette
The outer packaging has a purple and gold abstract design which is also replicated on the palette front as well. The palette itself is very similar to the Tarteist Contour Palette packaging, however, the palette is thinner and a lot lighter. The palette is very sturdy and it is very easy to travel with. Similarly to the Tarteist Contour Palette, the internal surface is a gold reflective metallic finish. The embossed design on the blushes is a gorgeous amazonian tree (I am assuming… art is subjective right? It is gorgeous, whatever it is!).
What I love about this palette is that it gives you 10 blushes and highlighters to play with, as let’s be real, how often do you actually hit pan on a blush? Each blush within the Tarte Cosmetics Color Wheel contains 0.084 oz of product which is a little less than half of a full sized blush pan containing 2.0 oz. In the whole scheme of things, you are getting 10 shades to try for $44 USD while a single blush would cost $28 USD. I think this palette is such great value.
Formula and Results:
These blushes are really smooth and almost buttery. They are not powdery or chalky however I did find a little kick up of powder after using it a few times. These blushes may not seem pigmented with the light swipe of a finger however when actually applying them to your face, it is very easy to apply too much as they are lovely and pigmented. They are very easily blendable though for a soft finish! Tarte claims that these blushes have 12-hour lasting power, and they definitely did not disappear throughout the day. They did fade a little bit on my skin, but I think the use of a setting spray will stop this from happening!
I think Tarte picked a great range of colors for this palette! It provides great colors for all types of makeup looks and also seasons. They also have a few shimmer shades in the mix with the matte shades.
The palette contains:
- Concept: pink nude
- Icon: dusty rose
- Montage: pink mauve
- Ironic: berry rose
- Crafty: pale pink shimmer highlight shade
- Blush in Deco: poppy pink
- Mod: peach coral
- Idol: nude shimmer highlight shade
- Culture: coral shimmer
- Surreal: hot pink
I really love the shades within this palette and how great of value it is!
